Savannah Georgia High 78F

We had a lovely day in Savannah today. We took a city bus into town and walked along the river.

There were lots of local artists displaying their work in small tents along the river's edge. We discovered that there are many talented artists in Savannah!

We were entertained by a group of  Capella singers and they were really good

The town is quaint and interestingly laid out in grids. Each grid has a garden square attached to it and there are many! They are all named after some of the main characters in the revolution. The roads, although all strait, are interrupted by these squares and one must drive around them to get back on the street you were traveling on.

Most of the streets in the old downtown are made of cobblestone...you know the stuff twisted ankles are made of!

The city transit is called Chatham Area Transit or CAT for short. I could not help think about my brother Gibbs and his wife Carole who love the CAT brand toys such as snowmobiles and side by side off road vehicles. This was YOUR bus guys, with the right colors too! As I write this, they are probably catching the last opportunities to go play on the snowmobiles at home.  I personally would rather be in Savannah!

Jeff and Jim found the perfect restaurant, Home of the cheapest beer in town.

So on to newer sights. Tomorrow we will head towards Charleston South Carolina. This should take us 2- 3 days depending on how aggressive we are tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

Good night all and Happy Easter
