Anchoring in tidal waters 101 32◦00'.900N 081◦02'.745W

When anchoring in tidal waters it is very important to know how big the tide will be and at what stage of the tide you are at the moment. If the water is going to rise by 8 feet, than you need to ensure that there is enough line out for the anchor to stay in the bottom. Conversely, if the water level will drop 8 feet, than you need to ensure there is not so much line out, that when the water drops you're sitting on the bottom, or you float into the coast line. I eluded to the fact that there where high tides in Georgia, but this is really ridiculous.

I swear to god there was water there when we anchored!

As the gentleman said, if there's not enough water wait a spell and it'll come!

We got out in early am and the sunrise against our boat was a real pretty sight.

We are now in Thunderbolt Georgia, anchored in Herb Creek. This morning's cruise was fantastic and we saw some beautiful sights.  This is an old Georgian home that Jeff captured along the way.

The docks along this river all have some pretty high posts. At low tide some of these  boats are hanging about 14 feet in the air.

Thunderbolt is a very pretty town about 30min bus ride from Savannah. Our plans for tomorrow are currently up in the air as we may need to drive to Charleston South Carolina to pick up a package. If not we will take a tour of Savannah. Either way, it's sure to be a good day.

Let's hope we don't wake up in the grass again! Although our camera man Jeff appreciates all the photo ops.  Most pictures on the blog tonight were courtesy of Jeff Heron. Thanks Jeff

Night all
