The bridge to nowhere 35◦58'961 N 088◦01'.550 W

Today was a very quiet day. The new fan belt held up just fine, thank god. When we left this morning there was a slight fog on the lake.

The weather certainly changed. Two days ago we were sweating; today I had to work with gloves on. I feel like I will be sanding this darn rail forever. But after an hour or so, I could not handle the cold anymore. So tomorrow will be another day.

During our trip today we found some areas of serious erosion and some really interesting buildings on the water. They look like hunting blinds but they are all on the water, so not sure how they are used. Maybe Bob L can answer the question for me?

We went by a bridge that just dead ended in the middle of the lake. It used to be a bridge from St-Louis to Nashville, but now it is a bridge to nowhere!

Then we saw what appears to be a dock for a Marina; but certainly not being used anymore.

We are currently in a place called Birdsong creek and it is incredibly peaceful here. Jim and I arrived around 4:45 pm and did a few tasks before settling in for dinner. Jim got to clean the toilet, which is always such a pleasant task. We wouldn't want you to think that this is nothing but fun and games! Before anybody asks no he did not dump the compost into the lake. It goes in a garbage bag and we will dispose of it when we stop for fuel in 2 days.

This anchorage is so secluded that there is no light pollution to dime the night stars. It's a beautiful clear night and it looks like a million diamonds in the sky. Unfortunately my camera could not get a good picture....sorry Rachelle. I would have tried longer but it is currently 41◦F so I wanted to come in.

Tomorrow will be a shorter day for us as we plan on doing about 50 miles up river and anchor at Swallow bluff island. Looks like it's going to be a bird theme to our travels for the next few days. Good night everybody.
