Enough rain...we're moving! 34◦02'.974N 077◦53'.371W

Sorry I did not blog yesterday the 16th, but it rained off and on most of the day and we really did not do much of anything other than bike to the store between showers. We did not even succeed at that, since it started to rain as Jim and I left the store. A bit of a wet ride, but nobody melted!
Having been at the city dock for 5 days, all of which were rainy days, it was time to untie the mooring lines and take off. We had a long day of cruising but did see a few interesting sights as we entered into North Carolina.
Jeff got a picture of a big black alligator, which he generously shared, however much like that rocket launch, all I saw of it is in the pictures):

There are as always some really beautiful houses along the way and a few....well that need a little help.

We met up with Not Home a fellow Hamiltonian. Andrew will be docking his boat a mere
4 or 5 slips away from us in Harbor West.
We also saw Captain Jeff's next boat, heck it even has his name on it.
We cruised for 9hrs today and it was a nice cruising day over all, although again it rained off and on. Susan and I conspired to make a lovely stew in the slow cooker, which we all devoured once we got to our anchorage.
As has been our pattern of late, we ended the night with a few hands of Euchre, which the boys won this time. Unfortunately, the corny picture is now our official sign off, so y'all have to suffer through it! Fear not, today was our last day of cruising with Jeff and Sue. Tomorrow we are heading to a marina to get some water tanks refilled and some laundry done; can't really do ours in the rain; and after that we will be separating for the remainder of this trip. They will be flying home on Wednesday, so there won't be any chance encounters any more):  Oh and after tomorrow night, no chance of corny pictures either!

Well it is time to say good night. See you all tomorrow.
