Gateway to the Trent Severn 44◦06'.087N 077◦34'.455W

We had really poor reception yesterday, so I was unable to post the fact that we made great progress and ended up at the end of the Rideau Canal. We had a lovely day with beautiful sunshine and uneventful lockages with the exception of the blown Solenoid on the Port engine. Jim was pretty sure he had a spare Solenoid except when we finally stopped for the night, he found out that it was not the in line solenoid but the solenoid on the started proper that had failed. THANKS FOR THE HELP BRUCE. We can always count on your knowledge. We were not sure we had a spare of those, but we found one hiding under the bed tonight, so he has now repaired our problem temporarily. I say temporarily because this spare is old and seems to be drawing an awful lot of juice, but we shall prevail...I have absolute faith in my mechanic of a husband.

When we arrived at the last lock of the Rideau, we were greeted by some wonderfully comfortable Muskoka chairs that were just right for docktails.

So today we made our way across the bay of Quinte and Picton Bay. When we started out we had some high winds, but fortunately the waves where on the stern quarter, which gave us a bit of a push.  The wind settled down around 1pm but still enough of it for all these sailboats to take advantage of it.

We stopped for the night at the Fraser Park Marina which is located right at the foot of Fraser park and right at the base of the bridge marking mile 1 of the Trent Severn Waterway.

Tomorrow is weekend hours so the locks are open until 7pm. We plan on leaving somewhere around 10am and hopefully making our way across several locks. We would love to make it to Penetang by the weekend if possible and then take our time coming back across it with Mom and Dad. Only time will tell.
In the mean time, we got a few provisions here and will fill up with water tomorrow before we set off again.

Hope you all have a great night.
